Break-out from the Crystal Palace; the anarcho-psychological critique; Stirner, Nietzsche, Dostoevsky
Published in Unknown Binding by Routledge & K. Paul ()
Author: John Carroll
Average review score:

Interesting
This book provides an interesting survey of the ideas of Stirner, Nietzsche, and Dostoevsky, asserting that they advocate individualist anarchism on psychological grounds. This is certainly true of Stirner, and probably true of Nietzsche (though he can be interpreted in other ways), but rather odd for Dostoevsky. In any case it makes good reading for anyone interested in psychology and anarchism. Also present are some brief comparisons with later psychologists of freedom.

The Cambridge Encyclopedia

Good but...
...for the same amount of money you can get the Columbia Enclyclopedia, twice as many pages. Cambridge has the advantage of a more recent edition, but Columbia is still the top choice unless you need information about really current events.

Cherish is a romance book that I found to be interesting
Cherish is a romance book that I found to be very interesting. It's about a woman named Cori who lost her family in a tragic car accident. So now she is looking to start her life over by moving to Charlotte, North Carolina with her brother and running their grandparents restaurant. To make more money she and her brother decide to sponsor a race car driver named Brad Marshall. At first Brad and Cori were not to fond of each other but deep inside they both had attractions for eac;h other. As time goes on they both start to discover them. This is a very good book and I recommend it to anybody who likes to read about interesting romances. This book will have you never wanting to put it down.

Cracks in the Sidewalk
Published in Hardcover by Baker Book House (October, 2001)
Authors: Crystal Bowman and Joel E. Tanis
Average review score:

clever poems and pictures that match
I was lucky enough to recently meet both Ms. Bowman and Mr. Tanis at an author's/illustrators seminar. It was probably some of the best insight ive recieved about this industry. Thru the large amount of works Ms. Bowman has produced, quality has not waivered in the slightest. It is apparant that Ms. Bowman is at the top of her game, and has that spark that keeps her in tune with the hearts and minds of children.

Mr. tanis is an amazing artist, who's level of artistry is paralleled only by the versatility of his hand. Every book he illustrtes is set apart by the next, yet each one has that unique flair that is his own.

And to play devil's advocate, the only downward connotation i see in this book is the unintentional yet unavoidable truth that it borderlines the resemblance to a Shel Silverstein book - in verse, style, and quaintness. But one may argue that is hardly something to be ashamed of.

This is a book that belong's on your child's shelf, for it has the potential to be a cherished bedtime book that your son or daughter will remember into their own adulthood.

The Cristal Experiment: A Chicano Struggle for Community Control
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Wisconsin Pr (July, 1998)
Author: Armando Navarro
Average review score:

Vital Piece of History
The Crystal City municipal election in which a Mexican-American slate, led by young activists and supported by the Teamsters Union, upset the entrenched elite, was a vital turning point in what is becoming the most significant political force in Texas and other states. This book is a useful reminder that persistent grassroots organizing, aided by traditional allies, is the quickest, most reliable route to Hispanic political influence.

Crystal & Cross: Christians and New Age in Creative Dialogue
Published in Paperback by Twenty-Third Publications (November, 1996)
Author: Bruce G. Epperly
Average review score:

The Crystal Cross
Bruce Epperly succeeds in writing down in very clear words how todays Christians can be inspired and transformed by New Age ideas and vice versa. The larger background for his vision is the kind of process theology as represented by John B. Cobb jr., one of the major authors in this field. The author focusses on themes like 'life after death', 'ethics', 'Christ', 'healing ministry' and 'channeling/prophetism'. Every chapter discusses in a first paragraph the New Age thoughts, followed by a paragraph that gives the christian respons to this, including the lessons both lines of thought can learn (from) each other. Every chapter ends by giving some 'questions for discussion', which makes this book very suitable for educational purposes. Epperly stresses the fact that todays christianity has to take serious the New Age, not as a threat, but as a challenge, a chance to renew itself and to adjust its parlor to this times needs. This book can hold a promise for both christians and New Age adherents, and for their mutual dialogue, to become creative and fruitfull. Many felt the need for these ideas, Epperly wrote them down.
